We had a nice drift through some beautiful 72 degree blue water in 25 fathoms. Though we didn't raise a Mako, we did put tags into a nice Brown shark and a large Blue shark.

Jim, thanks for coming, it was a pleasure meeting you! Sorry we couldn't find a Mako. Hope you will join us again! Wharf, we all missed you...

Wanna tag some big sharks? Better head for California. Check out this researchers website and see what they catch between San Francisco and Monterey.

That's some serious fishing boys. For some reason I never seem to pull fishies like those out of Lake Erie. Maybe I should switch from using nightcrawlers.

25 Fathoms (15 miles) SE of Shinnecock Inlet.

JOTS, we were trying for Makos. Both sharks were tagged and released. Brown sharks are now protected, Blue sharks are not table fare.

Wharf & Dire, probably going again on Thursday, tropical systems not withstanding. All are welcome...

Not sure about Ike yet but I doubt that it would be up there by Thursday.

thanks for sharing Cliff. Are those any good to eat or did you just happen on them? The only deep sea I've ever done was Halibut. Hard work but not much of a fighting fish. My favorite part was them getting capped in the head mafia style before brought on the boat. I don't know why.
